The 2022 Wine Tasting and Dinner for a Good Cause was a smashing success. Thanks to the Rotarian Team that put it all together (Co-Chairs Carol Hart & Dixie Fried and the rest of the team: Mike McCrary, Bob Dominguez, Allen McLean, Dave Barnes, Sheila Dudley, & Tom Stretz), the terrific group of people who came out to enjoy the evening and support our community, and of course our tremendous sponsors (more about them later).
The 100+ guests for the evening at the St. Isidore Historic Plaza in Los Alamitos were entertained with the rich sounds of Drew “DJ Drew” Hendrickson and enjoyed tasting a nice verity of wines throughout the evening.
Just after the event kicked off, we had a seldom seen rain shower that came through the area. But as per usual, the Rotary team quick to pivot and set up pop-up tents to shelter the silent auction and serving tables and the evening went on without a hitch.
The food was catered by Maderas Steakhouse in Los Alamitos and was in a word amazing. The tender tri-tip, chicken, and flavorful ribs graced the serving tables and made for a delightful evening.
Throughout the evening there was plenty of fun, dancing, and casual conversations , a reunion of sorts, as we slowly return to our pre-Covid lives and social events.
The silent and live auctions were fun and entertaining with quiet bidding wars and a lot of laughter. Plus there was some good money raised for the organizations we support. A true win-win-win.
