Happy Dollars: Because Rotarians Have a Lot to Be Happy About!
If you’ve ever been to one of our Rotary lunch meetings, you may have noticed something happens every single time: Happy Dollars!
What exactly are Happy Dollars? It’s our favorite excuse to brag a little. A new grandbaby? Happy Dollar. Promotion at work? Happy Dollar. Anniversary? Happy Dollar. Had a really great week for absolutely no particular reason? Yep… Happy Dollar!
It’s a fun Rotary tradition where members share something good happening in their lives and toss a few dollars into the pot. And, of course, we encourage a little good-natured Rotary humor along the way. Because if you can’t celebrate your wins with your fellow Rotarians, who can you celebrate them with?
But here’s the best part: every penny raised through our Happy Dollars goes right back to our community.
Our club uses those dollars to support the Pizza Fund for our Interact students at Los Alamitos High School and Cypress High School. So while we’re celebrating happy news, we’re also helping make sure our future leaders get a little pizza-powered fuel for their meetings and activities.
Basically, we get to be happy, eat pizza, support students… and call it Rotary business.
That sounds like a pretty good meeting to us!
So, your turn: If you had to share one piece of happy news today, what would your Happy Dollar be for?
New grandbaby? Promotion? Vacation? Great cup of coffee? Finally getting the kids to clean their room?
We want to hear it! Comment below ~
