Bob Dominguez – Seasoned Professional

Bob Dominguez is a seasoned professional with a distinguished career in public service and a vibrant passion for community engagement. For over 40 years, Bob has been a driving force in public administration, contributing his expertise as a city manager in both Los Alamitos and Placentia, and shaping the future of local governance throughout Southern California and Fresno County. He has spent the last three decades imparting his knowledge as a professor in the Graduate Center for Public Policy at Cal State Long Beach, where he has enriched the lives of countless students.

 

Outside the classroom and city hall, Bob’s dedication to service extends to his involvement with Rotary, where he has been an active member for 42 years. His commitment to community support is evident in his roles on the boards of Music Theatre West and the Business Consumer Alliance. He also serves as a Senior Advisor for city managers across the Gateway Cities and South Bay areas of Los Angeles County.

 

Bob and his wife, Janice, are a dynamic duo in their dedication to service. They bring their shared passion for community involvement to the Rotary and beyond. Janice, who met Bob during his internship in Lakewood, has been an integral part of their journey. Together, they have raised two sons, Joel and Jared, who have followed in their parents’ footsteps with impactful careers of their own.

 

When Bob isn’t dedicating time to public service or Rotary, he enjoys life’s finer pleasures. He takes delight in a good single malt scotch and has a fondness for ballroom dancing, a hobby that brings joy and connection to his life. Bob treasures the opportunity to meet and get to know new people through Rotary, a facet of his involvement that he finds especially rewarding.
