Investing in Our Future: Rotary Honors Adrian Lopez with Youth Scholarship
At the 2025 A Night Among the Stars event, the Los Alamitos, Cypress & Seal Beach Rotary Club was proud to award a $500 scholarship to a young leader who embodies everything Rotary stands for—service above self, integrity, and community spirit.
Meet Adrian Lopez, this year’s Rotary Club scholarship recipient and a student whose résumé reads more like a college grad’s than a high school sophomore’s.
Adrian is currently the President of the Sophomore Class Council at Los Alamitos High School, President of the Heart Club (an American Heart Association Chapter), and an active ASB Member. He also serves as a Board Member for the school’s Interact Club, where he helps lead community service initiatives that align directly with Rotary’s mission.
Adrian’s achievements speak for themselves:
– Honor Roll recognition for Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Fall 2024
– Attendee of ASB Leadership Camp 2024
– Former recipient of the Spanish Honors Award, Perfect Attendance, and Outstanding Citizenship Award during his 8th-grade year
But it’s not just the titles—it’s the heart behind them. Adrian is known for lifting others up, pushing for inclusive service projects, and leading by example. Whether he’s helping coordinate campus events or showing up early to set up for a service drive, Adrian leads with humility and focus.
“We see in Adrian a future Rotarian—and more importantly, a present-day changemaker,” said a representative from the Club. “It’s young leaders like him who remind us why supporting youth programs like Interact is one of the smartest investments we can make in our community’s future.”
The Bigger Picture
The Rotary Club’s scholarship program, presented each year at A Night Among the Stars in partnership with The Youth Center, aims to spotlight young people who are already putting service into action. Adrian joins a growing list of student leaders who’ve been supported by the Club as they pursue their academic goals and continue their work in the community.
