Our 2024 Wine & Dine - A Good Time For Everyone
The Rotary Club of Los Alamitos, Cypress & Seal Beach hosted their much-anticipated annual Rotary Wine & Dine event this past Saturday, and it was nothing short of a resounding success. Held on September 28th, the event attracted over 120 local residents and business leaders, raising more than $19,400 for community and international projects.
The evening featured a sophisticated selection of six Italian wines for tasting, a delicious meal, and was punctuated by a series of auctions that not only provided excitement but significant fundraising as well. The net proceeds from the night are earmarked to support more than a dozen area nonprofits, student scholarships, and educational initiatives.
Unparalleled Support from the Community
Andrew Pulver and Bob Dominguez, the chairs of this year’s event, were pivotal in organizing an evening that not only entertained but significantly benefited our community.
The success of the event can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of many including:
- Tom Stretz and George Voigt who organized the wine tasting
- Kathy Jeang and Penny Dash who created the registration packets and the event check-in
- Anne Silavs who coordinated sponsorships
- Art Remnet, Lina Lumme and Kathy Jeang who handled publicity
- Carol Hart for flowers and table decorations
- Lina Lumme and Tina Carey who pulled together the amazing live auction items
- Marlys Davidson and Midge Jones who assembled and managed the silent auction items
- Joe Partise who arranged the evening’s entertainment
Club President Mike McCrary emceed the event and kept the night moving along.
“We’re overwhelmed by the generosity and spirit of our community,” said Pulver. “Every year, we aim to create an event that is enjoyable and meaningful, and it’s gratifying to see so many come out to support our cause.”
Looking Forward
The Rotary Club is already planning next year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, September 27th. With this year’s success, expectations are high, and the community is encouraged to mark their calendars early.
“We see the Wine & Dine as a key event not just for fundraising but for bringing the community together,” said Bob Dominguez. “Next year will be even better, and we hope to see even more of our neighbors there.”
The funds raised will go a long way in supporting the local community and Rotary International’s global initiatives, reaffirming the club’s commitment to making a difference both locally and worldwide.
