Tina Carey - Rock Star!
Tina Carey’s journey is a testament to resilience and passion. With over two decades of experience as a paralegal, her career has taken her across the country, from the west coast to the east coast, navigating the complexities of public finance and litigation. Her professional path has been as diverse as the places she’s called home, each step contributing to her growth and adaptability.
But beyond the career milestones, Tina’s greatest source of motivation comes from a deeply personal place—her son. As a single mother juggling the demands of work, family, and self-improvement, Tina set her sights on earning an undergraduate degree while working full-time. It wasn’t easy, but it was a goal she was determined to achieve, and when she did, it was a moment of triumph. Being the first in her family to hold a degree is something she wears with pride, knowing it’s a legacy of perseverance she’s passed on to her son.
Outside of her professional and academic accomplishments, Tina is full of surprises. While many might expect her to unwind quietly after a long day, Tina has a different kind of release—attending punk rock concerts solo and diving into mosh pits! It’s her guilty pleasure, a way to let loose and embrace the raw energy of the moment.
“The most rewarding part of Rotary for me is the sense of community and shared purpose. It’s about coming together to serve others, and in doing so, building friendships that last a lifetime. Rotary brings out the best in me, both personally and professionally.”
~ Tina Carey
Another one of Tina’s joys is baking. Bringing a smile to someone’s face with a plate of homemade treats is something that makes her day. Whether it’s cookies or cupcakes, her kitchen is often filled with the warmth of baked goods and the happiness they bring to others.
Since joining Rotary, Tina has found another source of fulfillment. The camaraderie and sense of purpose in Rotary have given her not only personal and professional connections but also a platform to make a meaningful impact. For Tina, the motto “service above self” isn’t just a phrase—it’s a way of life. She’s discovered that through Rotary, she can bring out her most compassionate side, working alongside like-minded individuals to make a difference in the community. To Tina, there’s no greater reward than the friendships she’s built and the shared goal of making the world a better place.
