When the District Governor asks, “How can we help your club?” — Rotary clubs take that question seriously.
Very seriously. Especially when wine is involved.
Today’s luncheon was a great one as we welcomed our District Governor and district team to learn more about what’s happening across Rotary and how the District is supporting clubs.
We heard updates about the Rotary Foundation, the upcoming Gala, the Leadership Conference, and the many programs and activities happening through Rotary International and our District.
But one question really stood out:
“How can the District help your club?”
Now, that was refreshing.
Of course, being the club that we are, we immediately had some ideas.
First suggestion: a hands-on Social Media & AI Conference for Rotarians. Not just a presentation where someone tells us what we should be doing, but an actual workshop where we sit down and learn how to post, share, create content, grow our networks, and connect with people using today’s technology.
And then came our second suggestion…
An annual case of wine.
And just to be clear, District, when we say “case,” we mean 12 bottles. We are Rotarians, after all. We believe in supporting local nonprofits, serving our community, growing membership, volunteering, and celebrating accomplishments.
And we work VERY hard.
So naturally, hydration is important.
We also had the opportunity to share what our club has been accomplishing—from our incredibly successful Kid’s Fishing Derby, to nearly $80,000 donated to local nonprofits last year, to volunteering throughout our community, growing our membership, and creating social opportunities that bring people together.
It was a jam-packed luncheon, filled with ideas, updates, laughter, and a great conversation about how we can continue growing Rotary together.
Thank you to our District Governor, Monica Peters, and her district team for joining us, listening to our ideas, sharing your vision, and most importantly, asking how you can help.
We left the meeting feeling energized, inspired, and ready to keep doing what we do best:
Serve our community, grow Rotary, have fun… and apparently start lobbying for a wine delivery from District.
Hey, you asked. ![]()
