A New Year and Welcome Back

A New Year and Welcome Back

We had a great meeting today (1/7/2025), and we got to welcome back Dixie Fried after a long recovery. It was great seeing her and as usual, she did not disappoint, bring a smile to everyone’s face. We talked about the upcoming events (see below) and everyone was encouraged to get your Valentine’s Day of Giving luncheon tickets as soon as possible. It helps with meal and table planning and we are just a month away from the event.

Lina Lumme introduced Krystal Neitzke from Westmont Cypress as our latest Club member. Welcome Krystal.

And Charlie Emanuel shared about how to order Rotary Club gear to get your new year started off right.

Then guest speaker Bill Henry from Sober Step Solutions shared the AA 12-Step program from a different perspective. It is always good to review how, regardless of our addiction, we need to take responsibility for our actions and those we may have hurt along the way. Bill also shared a neat little “tapping” meditation we can use anytime to shift the energy in the room and in ourselves. Thanks Bill

Upcoming Events

In February, we have our annual Valentine’s Day of Giving. This fun and fantastic event is one of our two big annual fundraisers and takes place on Tuesday, February 11th at On the Greens in Cypress.

Luncheon tickets are $50 each. You can get your tickets here.

And in March we have our Noodles for Nonprofits, our longstanding nonprofit fundraiser, which will be on Saturday, March 8th at the Cypress Senior Center.

If you know of any nonprofits who might be interested in generating additional revenue by selling tickets (the organization keeps 100% of the $7 sales) to this yummy dinner, please share this opportunity with them.   Event details here.  You can share this URL if you are passing it along to nonprofit groups you know (including PTAs, Scout troops/packs, etc.): LACSBRotary.org/noodles
